We arose in the dark and prepared to depart at first light. It was going to be our first Gulf Crossing. Nelson and I listened to weather broadcast on VHF and it warned of fog and building waves. Still we headed onward.
As we crossed the Gulf the waves continued to build and a pouring rain.
Next we were surrounded by a pod of Dolphins.
After being Serenaded by Dolphins we prepare to enter Destin East Jetty. Having been warned there could be 15 ft standing waves I called Zyg Durski to consult. He recommended we call Boat US to see if the would guide us in. Captain Cody Theroit agreed to meet us out of the harbor and guide us in. Thank God. Cody’s last words to me were “Once you start in you cannot turn around”.
